It was quite the successful weekend for a handful of Carroll County girls lacrosse players who teamed up at the annual All-America Lacrosse Classic.

Baltimore Command went 6-0 in the Underclass Tournament (July 28-31) and won the team title, backed by four county residents and led by Manchester Valley standout Emma Penczek. The rising sophomore netted 8 goals in the championship game against Long Island, which Baltimore won 11-8.

Penczek got help from Winters Mill's Sienna Perryman, Sykesville native Allison Fling (Garrison Forest), and Manchester's Kirsten Clarius (Gerstell Academy).

Former Westminster coach John Brown was part of the Command coaching staff.

Baltimore Highlight also won a tournament championship in its bracket, led by Century's Jasmine Stanton and Gerstell's Olivia Sprinkle (Hampstead) and Reilly Sullivan (Westminster).

Gerstell head coach Dave Kennedy was also head coach of the Highlight squad.
